ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Bible is God’s word to all men. It
was written by human authors, under the
supernatural guidance of the Holy
Spirit. It is the supreme source of
truth for Christian beliefs and living.
Because it is inspired by God, it is
truth without any mixture of error. 2
Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 1
Thessalonians 2:13, Psalm 119:160
ABOUT GOD
God is the Creator and Ruler of the
universe. He has eternally existed in
three persons: the Father, the Son and
the Holy Spirit. These three are
co-equal and are one God. Genesis 1:1;
Psalm 90:1-2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Timothy
2:5, Isaiah 43:10,1
ABOUT JESUS
CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is
co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a
sinless human life and offered Himself
as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of
all men by dying on a cross. He arose
from the dead after three days to
demonstrate His power over sin and
death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and
will return again to earth to reign as
King of kings, and Lord of lords. John
1:1, John 1:14, Isaiah 9:6, 1 Timothy
3:16, 1 Timothy 6:14, 1 Corinthians
15:17, Matthew 1:22,23; Acts 1:9-11,
2:22, 10:38
ABOUT THE
HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father
and the Son as God. He is present in the
world to make men aware of their need
for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every
Christian from the moment of salvation.
He provides the Christian with power for
living, understanding of spiritual
truth, and guidance in doing what is
right. The Christian seeks to yield to
His leading daily. 2 Corinthians 3:17;
John 14:26, 16:7-13,; Romans 8:11; 1
Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 1:13;
Zechariah 4:6
ABOUT MAN
Man is made in the spiritual image of
God, to be like Him in character. He is
the supreme object of God’s creation.
Although man has tremendous potential
for good, he is marred by an attitude of
disobedience toward God called "sin".
This attitude separates man from God.
Genesis 1:26,27; Isaiah 53:6a; 59:1,2;
Romans 3:23; James 4:17
ABOUT
SALVATION
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man
can never make up for his sin by
self-improvement or good works. Only by
trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer
of forgiveness can man be saved from
sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the
moment one receives Jesus Christ into
his life by faith. John 1:12, 3:5; 14:6,
Titus 3:5; Romans 5:1; Ephesians 2:8,9;
Psalm 27:1, Acts 16:31
ABOUT ETERNITY
Man was created to exist forever. He
will either exist eternally separated
from God by sin or in union with God
through forgiveness and salvation. To be
eternally separated from God is Hell. To
be eternally in union with Him is
eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places
of eternal existence. John 3:16, 2:25; 1
John 5:11-13; Romans 6:22,23; Revelation
20:15; Ecclesiastes 3:11,14

ABOUT THE BIBLE
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is
God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness
2 Peter 1:20, 21 Above all, you must
understand that no prophecy of Scripture
came about by the prophet's own
interpretation. For prophecy never had
its origin in the will of man, but men
spoke from God as they were carried
along by the Holy Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 2:13 And we also
thank God continually because, when you
received the word of God, which you
heard from us, you accepted it not as
the word of men, but as it actually is,
the word of God, which is at work in you
who believe.
Psalm 119:160 All your words are
true; all your righteous laws are
eternal.
ABOUT GOD
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created
the heavens and the earth.
Psalm 90:1-2 Lord, you have been our
dwelling place throughout all
generations. Before the mountains were
born or you brought forth the earth and
the world, from everlasting to
everlasting you are God.
Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God
and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus
Isaiah 43:10,11 "You are my
witnesses," declares the LORD, "and my
servant whom I have chosen, so that you
may know and believe me and understand
that I am he. Before me no god was
formed, nor will there be one after me.
I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from
me there is no savior.
ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God.
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and
made his dwelling among us. We have seen
his glory, the glory of the One and
Only, who came from the Father, full of
grace and truth.
Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given, and the government
will be on his shoulders. And he will be
called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
1 Timothy 3:16 Beyond all question,
the mystery of godliness is great: He
appeared in a body, was vindicated by
the Spirit, was seen by angels, was
preached among the nations, was believed
on in the world, was taken up in glory.
1 Timothy 6:14 to keep this command
without spot or blame until the
appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:17 And if Christ has
not been raised, your faith is futile;
you are still in your sins.
Matthew 1:22,23 All this took place
to fulfill what the Lord had said
through the prophet: "The virgin will be
with child and will give birth to a son,
and they will call him Immanuel"—which
means, "God with us."
Acts 1:9-11 After he said this, he
was taken up before their very eyes, and
a cloud hid him from their sight. They
were looking intently up into the sky as
he was going, when suddenly two men
dressed in white stood beside them. "Men
of Galilee," they said, "why do you
stand here looking into the sky? This
same Jesus, who has been taken from you
into heaven, will come back in the same
way you have seen him go into heaven."
Acts 2:22 "Men of Israel, listen to
this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man
accredited by God to you by miracles,
wonders and signs, which God did among
you through him, as you yourselves know.
Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of
Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power,
and how he went around doing good and
healing all who were under the power of
the devil, because God was with him.
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the
Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord
is, there is freedom.
John 14:26 But the Counselor, the
Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send
in my name, will teach you all things
and will remind you of everything I have
said to you.
John 16:7-13 But I tell you the
truth: It is for your good that I am
going away. Unless I go away, the
Counselor will not come to you; but if I
go, I will send him to you. When he
comes, he will convict the world of
guilt in regard to sin and righteousness
and judgment: in regard to sin, because
men do not believe in me; in regard to
righteousness, because I am going to the
Father, where you can see me no longer;
and in regard to judgment, because the
prince of this world now stands
condemned. "I have much more to say to
you, more than you can now bear. But
when he, the Spirit of truth comes, he
will guide you into all truth. He will
not speak on his own; he will speak only
what he hears, and he will tell you what
is yet to come.
Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of him
who raised Jesus from the dead is living
in you, he who raised Christ from the
dead will also give life to your mortal
bodies through his Spirit, who lives in
you.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Don't you know
that you yourselves are God's temple and
that God's Spirit lives in you?
Ephesians 1:13 And you also were
included in Christ when you heard the
word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation. Having believed, you were
marked in him with a seal, the promised
Holy Spirit
Zechariah 4:6 So he said to me, "This
is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel:
'Not by might nor by power, but by my
Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty.
ABOUT MAN
Genesis 1:26,27 Then God said, "Let us
make man in our image, in our likeness,
and let them rule over the fish of the
sea and the birds of the air, over the
livestock, over all the earth, and over
all the creatures that move along the
ground." So God created man in his own
image, in the image of God he created
him; male and female he created them.
Isaiah 53:6a We all, like sheep, have
gone astray, each of us has turned to
his own way; and the LORD has laid on
him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 59:1,2 Surely the arm of the
LORD is not too short to save, nor his
ear too dull to hear. But your
iniquities have separated you from your
God; your sins have hidden his face from
you, so that he will not hear.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and
fall short of the glory of God.
James 4:17 Anyone, then, who knows
the good he ought to do and doesn't do
it, sins.
ABOUT SALVATION
John 1:12 Yet to all who received him,
to those who believed in his name, he
gave the right to become children of
God.

been justified through faith, we ]have
peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ.

you have been saved, through faith—and
this not from yourselves, it is the gift
of God — not by works, so that no one
can boast.
Psalm 27:1 The LORD is my light and
my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD
is the stronghold of my life — of whom
shall I be afraid?
Acts 16:31 They replied, "Believe in
the Lord Jesus, and you will be
saved—you and your household."
ABOUT ETERNITY
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish
but have eternal life.
John 2:25 He did not need man's
testimony about man, for he knew what
was in a man.
1 John 5:11-13 And this is the
testimony: God has given us eternal
life, and this life is in his Son. He
who has the Son has life; he who does
not have the Son of God does not have
life. I write these things to you who
believe in the name of the Son of God so
that you may know that you have eternal
life.
Romans 6:22,23 But now that you have
been set free from sin and have become
slaves to God, the benefit you reap
leads to holiness, and the result is
eternal life. For the wages of sin is
death, but the gift of God is eternal
life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Revelation 20:15 If anyone's name was
not found written in the book of life,
he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Ecclesiastes 3:11,14 (11) He has made
everything beautiful in its time. He has
also set eternity in the hearts of men;
yet they cannot fathom what God has done
from beginning to end. (14) I know that
everything God does will endure forever;
nothing can be added to it and nothing
taken from it. God does it so that men
will revere him.

OUR
CORE VALUES

1. WE VALUE
PEOPLE - People matter to
God.
We believe people matter to God and
therefore they matter to us. God
demonstrated the high value He places on
people when He gave His very best, His
Son, to provide the gift of salvation.
At New Hope, we believe it is our
mandate to take the Good News to the
world, find faith, grow through the
teachings in Christ and equip ourselves
as followers of Christ to make a
difference in the world. (John 3:16,
Romans 5:8, Luke 15:10, 1 John 4:9-11, 2
Peter 3:9, 1 Peter 4:8, 1 Cor. 10:33)
2. WE VALUE
APPLICATION OF SCRIPTURE
- Teaching is for life-change.
We believe the Bible is God’s Word to
our world. Therefore, we must live and
practice the life changing principles we
discover. God gave us His Word in order
to equip us and change us for His glory
and our benefit. (Psalm 1:1-6, James
1:22-25, Luke 6:46 (17-49), Psalm
119:11, Matt 4:4, Proverbs 30:5, James
1:22, 2 Tim 3:16)
3. WE VALUE
AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY - Life change happens best in community
groups.
We believe real authenticity is best
described as openness with others about
our strengths and weaknesses. We will
help people find their way from the
large group (weekend services) into
relationally-authentic community groups
(small groups). (1 Cor 1:9, 1 John 1:7,
Matt 7:16, Phil 2:1-5, Acts 2:46-47)
4. WE VALUE
RELEVANCE - Although our
methods will change, our Message will
not.
We believe the Bible is the most
exciting book ever written and we seek
to share its truth in relevant life
applications and environments. We will
create appropriate life applications and
environments for our Preschoolers, Grade
school children, Middle and High school
students as well as Adults. (John 1:1,
Heb 4:12, Heb 13:8, 1 Chron 12:32, 2 Tim
3:16-17, 1 Cor 9:22, Psalm 33:11, Prov
19:21, Eph 5:17, Romans 12:1-2)
5. We Value Service - Every member is
a minister.
We believe God has equipped every
follower of Christ with gifts and
passions to be used for His ministry. We
will encourage everyone to use and
develop their gifts and talents in
service to our church, community and
world. (1 Peter 4:10, Romans 12:6-8, 1
Corinthians 12:4-7, Ephesians 4:11-13, 2
Thess 2:16-17, Eph 2:10, John 15:16, Gal
6:10) |
