DESCRIPTION OF MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

Church in Action
Plans and provides mission opportunities for New Hope (local, regional & global). Opportunities within the CIA are listed below. Lynnette Norton and Pat Shotwell

Senior Ministry – visit nursing homes.

Operation Shoebox - coordinates collection and distribution of supplies for our troops.

Operation Christmas Child –brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.

Angel Food Ministries – Angel Food is available in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per unit. Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $60. Everyone is encouraged to participate.

Annual Mission Trip – Hurricane Relief – coordinate and or participate in the annual fall mission trip to Louisiana.

Free Cycle – is grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer.

Coats for Kids – coordinate annual coat drive in the fall.

Turkey Shoot – coordinate annual turkey collection and delivery.

Thanksgiving Basket – coordinate annual thanksgiving baskets (food collection and delivery).

College Ministry
Maintains connections between individuals attending college and New Hope. Rhonda Hemphill

Communications Team
Oversees and coordinates church-wide communications in various forms. (Newsletter – Nancy Skillman/ Michell Bettega, Announcements - Trisha Evans/ Heidi Brockenbrough, Website Updates (need), Bulletin Board- Tammy Weller, Ads - Rob Pelton. This team is charged with analyzing and improving all written and visual communication that goes out from New Hope. They are experts in various areas of communication.

Christian Education and Small Groups
Facilitate Christian growth opportunities and relationship building by leading or serving in our C.L.A.S.S. series or small groups. Sandy Brockenbrough

Drama Team
Provides a visual look at real life with real truth; a puppet ministry is also used. Heidi Brockenbrough

Fresh Start
Provides persons to call and follow-up with attenders who have expressed needs or concerns. Michell Bettega

Greeter Ministry
Welcomes people and provides distribution of name tags and message guides on Sunday mornings. Kim VanderVeen

Java Junction Team
Serves refreshments to attenders on Sunday mornings in an attractive and warm way. Nicole Pelton

Hospitality Host/Hostess
Welcomes people, assists with people’s needs and traffic flow on Sunday mornings. This individual coordinates the parking and usher ministries. Sandy Brockenbrough

Impact KIDS
Provides a dynamic and interactive program for grades 1 - 6. It teaches children how to become devoted followers of Christ through Bible lessons, relationships with others, worship music, drama and opportunities to participate in various church ministries. Impact KIDS meets on Tuesday evenings during the school year. Patty Barsalou

Kitchen Coordinator
Organizes and maintains order and cleanliness of the church kitchen. Works with groups using the kitchen to provide general guidance.

Media Projection Team
Provides visual projection of songs and the message (Song Show and PowerPoint) on Sunday mornings to enhance the worship experience, for Teen 360 (Sunday evenings) and Impact Kid’s Church (Tuesday evenings). Joni Ulman

Military Ministry
Maintains connections between individuals serving our country and New Hope. Deb McClarren & John McClarren

Mom’s Morning Out
Childcare is provided the first Friday of the month at the church. Pat Shotwell

Money Counters
This team takes care of counting, sorting and recording all the offering from the weekend. They work together at the church following the service. Mike Russell

Nursery
These caregivers provide a loving welcome to our smallest attenders (infant through 3 years) and offer a safe, warm, and interactive care while parents worship. Theresa Indreica

Praise Team
This team leads the congregation in song (vocal and instrumental) during the Sunday morning service. Pam Katona

Prayer Ministry
Comments and prayer concerns are recorded and passed on to the staff and prayer ministry teams as appropriate. Debbie Russell

Scrapbook Team
Uses various media to capture and store the events of the church for current and future use. Joni Ulman

Setup Team
This team is responsible for setting up and tearing down the stage items, chairs and tables for regularly scheduled and special events. Jeff Hemphill

Sisterchix Ministries
Helps women relationally connect with one another and grow spiritually through prayer and fellowship. Annette Weiss

Sound Team
Provides all of the audio-related needs for the Sunday morning worship service, Praise Team special events and Youth Praise Band. Pam Katona

Sports Ministry
This ministry helps people keep physically fit by offering a wide variety of team and individual sports activities. These activities are intended to serve as introduction points for our people to the community. Michele Salwey

SonPower KIDS
This ministry helps 4 and 5 year olds to embrace God as a loving heavenly father by learning that God created them and loves them forever. Ruth Kenaga

Teen 360
Our Junior and Senior High youth ministry team helps the students (7th – 12th grade) grow spiritually and relationally. Adam Davis

Videographers
Records Sunday worship service and special events for webcasting and DVD library. Vern Weller

Welcome Center (Information Center)
Coordinator distributes publications and other information related to church-wide communications. Assists individuals in checking out prior Sunday messages which are available on DVD.

Worship Team
Plans and coordinates the Sunday morning worship experience. Heidi Brockenbrough

Usher Ministry
The part of the welcoming team that assists people into the worship service by overseeing the service in general and assisting people where needed. This team also distributes the JOY Buckets for the worship collection of offering and tithes. Clint Putman

Xtreme Clean
Custodial Care and cleaning of the church on a weekly basis. There is a coordinator for this ministry. We need helpers. The tasks involve cleaning (sweeping, mopping, vacuum, straightening chairs, cleaning nursery supplies, kitchen and bathrooms). There is a checklist. One family commits to one week once every 3 months. Partner up with another family , play some music and have fun! Wilma Buckley
